The EMERGE Alaska Program (Enhancing Marine Ecosystem Research and Graduate Education in Alaska) is designed to support and advance graduate training and marine ecosystem research in Alaska. Hosted by the University of Alaska’s College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), the program offers comprehensive academic, research, and professional development opportunities for Ph.D. students in Fisheries, Marine Biology, or Oceanography. EMERGE Alaska provides three years of full financial support for eligible students, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and preparation for careers in marine science fields. The program is specifically targeted at applicants who have received an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Honorable Mention.
