Key Information: Only LMIC-based junior faculty are eligible; U.S. citizens and U.S.-based researchers are not eligible.
This opportunity provides intensive, mentored research career development support for early-career scientists in low- or middle-income countries (LMICs) who hold junior faculty positions at LMIC academic or research institutions. The program is designed to foster the transition to research independence by supporting both career development activities and a research project, with a focus on independent clinical trials that address health priorities in the applicant’s country.
The award is specifically for applicants proposing to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or a separate ancillary clinical trial. The program is intended to build research capacity at LMIC institutions and promote long-term collaborations with U.S. and global partners.
