The National Academy of Medicine’s Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Program (ELHM) is designed to foster engagement with exceptional early- to mid-career professionals in biomedical science, population health, health care, health policy, and related fields. Each year, up to 10 professionals are selected as Victor J. Dzau Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Scholars. The program offers a three-year term during which scholars participate in leadership development, mentorship by NAM members, interdisciplinary collaboration, and integration into NAM activities, including annual meetings and forums. The goal is to infuse NAM programs with innovative perspectives and to cultivate the next generation of leaders in health and medicine.
