The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s Energy and Environment Program funds collaborative, interdisciplinary research that informs the societal transition toward low-carbon energy systems in the United States. The program targets projects that bridge the social and natural sciences, generate novel research, train emerging scholars, build multidisciplinary networks, and disseminate impartial findings to inform policy and practice. Priority is given to projects that are timely, gap-filling, and foster partnerships across academia, government, industry, and other stakeholders.
