The Energy and Mineral Development Program (EMDP) provides technical assistance funding to Federally recognized Tribes and Tribal Energy Development Organizations (TEDOs) for projects on Indian lands. The program supports initiatives that identify, evaluate, or assess energy and mineral resources to advance Tribal self-governance, economic development, and resource sovereignty. Eligible projects include resource inventories, feasibility studies, market analyses, and other pre-development activities necessary for the sustainable use and development of energy and mineral resources such as biomass, solar, wind, geothermal, oil, gas, sand, gravel, coal, and minerals.
