The Energy/Mineral Impact Assistance Fund Grant (EIAF) program, administered by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), provides funding to Colorado political subdivisions that are socially and/or economically impacted by the development, processing, or energy conversion of minerals and mineral fuels. The program aims to promote sustainable community development, increase livability, and enhance resilience through strategic investments in asset-building activities. Funds are sourced from state severance taxes on energy and mineral production as well as federal mineral royalties. Priority is given to projects demonstrating urgency, strong local commitment, readiness to proceed, and a clear link to energy/mineral impacts, particularly in rural Colorado.
