Summary: Supports active, tailored dissemination of PCORI-funded research findings to patients, caregivers, and healthcare communities to promote informed healthcare decisions and uptake of evidence.
Key Information: Only dissemination of PCORI-funded research results is eligible; projects must demonstrate strong engagement with target audiences.
This opportunity funds projects that actively disseminate findings from PCORI-funded, patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) to specific audiences—such as patients, families, caregivers, clinicians, and the broader healthcare community. The focus is on active, tailored strategies that increase awareness, understanding, and use of PCORI-funded evidence in healthcare decision making, policy, and practice. Projects must demonstrate strong relationships with their target audiences and translate research findings into accessible, actionable messages. The initiative requires meaningful engagement of patients and stakeholders throughout project planning and implementation, and a robust evaluation plan to measure dissemination impact.
Only PCORI-funded research findings are eligible for dissemination under this award. Projects proposing passive, untargeted, or untailored dissemination strategies (e.g., mass mailings, untargeted presentations) are not supported. The program encourages collaborative partnerships and expects applicants to demonstrate how their efforts align with PCORI’s Foundational Expectations for Partnerships in Research.
