Description
This funding opportunity, offered by the U.S. Mission to Brazil, aims to strengthen the capacity of Brazilian educators to teach STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects in English. The program supports the development and implementation of a 2–3 week exchange in the United States for up to 30 Brazilian secondary and/or higher education English teachers who specialize in STEM. The exchange is followed by a two-week online course two months after participants return to Brazil, reinforcing concepts and supporting action plan implementation. The initiative is grounded in Content-Based Instruction (CBI), English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), and bilingual education methodologies, with strong emphasis on innovative teaching, assessment, and leadership development. The goal is to foster enduring professional networks, promote U.S.-Brazil educational collaboration, and enhance English-medium STEM education in Brazil.
