This funding opportunity aims to protect and improve public health globally by supporting activities that strengthen public health surveillance systems. The program focuses on enhancing surveillance workforce capacity, improving integration between surveillance and laboratory systems, reinforcing emergency preparedness, advancing electronic disease surveillance platforms, and promoting the use of surveillance data for public health action. The recipient(s) will work closely with Ministries of Health, CDC country offices, and other stakeholders to assess and enhance surveillance systems, develop protocols and training materials, and facilitate cross-sectoral collaboration, including One Health priorities. The ultimate goal is to build regional and country capacities to detect, respond to, control, and prevent infectious diseases and emerging threats, thereby strengthening border health security and mitigating public health events of international concern.
