Supported projects may focus on energy efficiency, clean energy, low-emission transportation, resilient infrastructure, reduction of emissions and toxic pollutants, public health protection (especially for vulnerable populations), and biodiversity conservation through habitat connectivity. Cross-cutting efforts in smart growth, sustainable agriculture, and regional food systems are encouraged. Internationally, the program supports U.S.-based organizations building capacity to protect biodiversity, improve environmental health, and reduce greenhouse gases globally.
