The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Small Grants program provides competitive funding to non-profit community organizations and federally-recognized Tribal governments for projects addressing environmental justice (EJ) issues in California communities disproportionately affected by pollution and environmental hazards. The program supports a wide range of community-based projects, including those focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation, access to clean water, pollution reduction, resource conservation, community education, technical assistance, capacity building, and participation in environmental decision-making processes. Projects should be community-specific, advance environmental equity, and foster resilience and collaboration.
