This opportunity funds a cooperative agreement for surveys and monitoring of candidate and state-tracked species at the US Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MWTC) in Bridgeport, California. The project aims to document populations, assess habitat conditions, and provide management recommendations for species of concern, supporting compliance with the Endangered Species Act, Sikes Act, and other federal and state requirements. Work will also inform and update the installation's Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan (INRMP) and ensure alignment with US Forest Service agreements.
Target species include Northern Goshawk, Great Gray Owl, Western Bumblebee, Monarch Butterfly, Black-backed Woodpecker, American Wolverine, Bi-state Sage Grouse, various bat species, Yosemite Toad, and Sierra Nevada Yellow-legged Frog.
