DBH’s Office of Community Services, Bureau of Recovery Supports – Peer Services administers this opportunity under RFA #119: DBH-FY27 Recovery Supports. It funds implementation and capacity building for new Peer-Run Organizations (PROs) serving people with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders and their families. The program seeks to expand wellness services, reduce isolation, strengthen community resilience, and reduce reliance on inpatient hospitals and correctional facilities.
Supported work includes peer staffing and training, organizational planning, technology, outreach, partnerships, facility operations, and peer-led recovery programming. Adult-serving expansion targets designated underserved counties, while youth and family programming is eligible statewide. PROs must embody a recovery vision, authenticity of voice, and accountability to the recovery community, with programming responsive to participants’ needs and input.
