The Eugene V. Thaw Fellowship for Collections Cataloguing is a 12-month, full-time position in the Department of European Paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This fellowship is designed for emerging museum professionals and provides hands-on training in cataloguing works of art, researching provenance, exhibition history, and bibliographic references, as well as documenting scholarly opinions. Fellows receive specialized training in The Museum System (TMS), a widely used collections management database, and work closely with curators, conservators, and cataloguers. The program encourages the development of personal research interests within collections cataloguing and art history, and may include opportunities for research-related travel. Fellows are immersed in the museum environment, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
