This funding opportunity supports local and regional authorities in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries to implement nature-based solutions for the restoration and protection of natural lake ecosystems. The program is designed to transfer and adapt successful methodologies piloted at EUROLakes demonstration sites (Italy, Germany, Romania) to new regions, with the goal of improving the ecological and chemical status of lakes, enhancing biodiversity, and contributing to key EU policy objectives such as the Green Deal, Water Framework Directive, and the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030." Selected regions will work closely with EUROLakes partners to co-develop tailored replication plans, build local capacity, and establish communities of practice.
