Description
This funding opportunity aims to strengthen and further develop the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) as a central platform for analyzing and countering disinformation across Europe. The grant supports a wide range of activities, including:
- Coordinating fact-checking, research, monitoring, and media literacy initiatives.
- Enhancing operational cooperation among fact-checkers, researchers, and media literacy practitioners.
- Expanding language and regional coverage, especially in emerging areas of concern.
- Developing and deploying innovative tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, to address new disinformation threats such as deepfakes and AI-generated content.
- Monitoring disinformation trends, particularly during crisis situations and elections.
- Facilitating data access for researchers and supporting implementation of the 2022 Code of Practice on Disinformation.
- Conducting tailored media literacy campaigns and proactive outreach to increase societal resilience.
