--- ## Description This opportunity supports the development or expansion of community-based treatment programs for justice-involved youth under age 18 who have substance use disorders (SUD) and/or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUD). The goal is to improve responses and outcomes for these youth by increasing access to appropriate community-based treatment options, thereby addressing their health needs and preventing further involvement with the justice system. Programs funded under this initiative are expected to implement cross-system approaches, enhance service delivery, and develop strategies for early identification, referral, and diversion of youth from formal justice processing. --- ## Due Dates - May 4, 2026: SF-424 submission deadline via Grants.gov (by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time) - May 11, 2026: Full application deadline via JustGrants (by 8:59 p.m. Eastern Time) --- ## Funding Amount - Estimated total program funding: $6,000,000 - Anticipated number of awards: 10 - Maximum award per project: $600,000 - Award duration: Up to 36 months - No cost sharing or matching required --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants include: - State governments - County governments - City or township governments - Federally recognized Native American tribal governments - Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education) Additional notes: - Applicants may submit more than one application, provided each proposes a different project. - Subrecipients/partners are allowed, but only one entity may serve as the lead applicant. --- ## Application Process 1. **Register/renew in SAM.gov** and obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). 2. **Step 1:** Submit the required SF-424 form via [Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/) by May 4, 2026. 3. **Step 2:** Complete and submit the full application in [JustGrants](https://justicegrants.usdoj.gov/) by May 11, 2026. 4.
