This opportunity supports the initial investigation of innovative, high-risk, and potentially groundbreaking concepts in multiple sclerosis (MS) research. The program is designed to encourage novel approaches that address fundamental gaps in MS understanding, with a focus on areas such as central nervous system repair, disease activity and progression, symptom biology and measurement, and mechanisms associated with disease onset and course. Emphasis is placed on the strength and innovation of the proposed approach rather than preliminary data. Clinical trials are not permitted under this mechanism. The award is open to established investigators at any career stage, as well as new investigators early in their faculty appointments.
