Description
This opportunity funds the extension of the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Registry, a large-scale public health resource established to monitor the long-term health effects among people directly exposed to the September 11, 2001, attacks. The Registry, managed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in cooperation with the CDC, serves as a central database for research and surveillance, supports the identification of physical and mental health outcomes, disseminates findings, and informs healthcare policy and disaster preparedness. This five-year cooperative agreement will enable continued data collection, community engagement, research facilitation, and treatment referral for those affected by the 9/11 disaster.
