Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is soliciting applications for projects that will expand and develop the aviation maintenance technical workforce in the United States and its territories. This program is aimed at providing meaningful educational experiences, stimulating interest in aviation maintenance careers, and supporting the transition of individuals—including members and veterans of the armed forces—into the aviation maintenance industry. Projects may include curriculum development, apprenticeships, internships, outreach to underrepresented populations, and other initiatives that enhance or expand the aviation maintenance workforce. Notably, 20% of total funding will support the Willa Brown Aviation Education Program, which must be carried out in counties containing at least one qualified opportunity zone.
