The Faculty Seed Grants administered by the UC Cancer Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) are designed to support meritorious, faculty-led research projects addressing any aspect of cancer, including its origins, prevention, detection, treatment, and cure. The program welcomes proposals from all disciplines and research types—ranging from basic and applied science to clinical and community-based research—provided the work is directly relevant to cancer. The goal is to foster innovative research that can serve as a foundation for future, larger-scale funding.
Awards are made in two categories:
Projects may include interdisciplinary approaches and are encouraged to address cancer health disparities or impacts on at-risk communities. A $10,000 supplement is available for PIs to support undergraduate, master’s, or post-baccalaureate trainees.
