Summary: Supports early-career anesthesiology scholars to engage in health and medicine studies at the National Academies, advancing evidence-based healthcare and professional development.
The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) NAM Fellowship is part of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Fellowships for Health Science Scholars. This two-year, non-renewable fellowship is designed for early-career academic professionals in anesthesiology. Fellows participate directly in evidence-based healthcare and public health studies under the auspices of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The experience is intended to broaden the fellow’s exposure to health policy, research, and leadership, while advancing both the field of anesthesiology and the fellow’s career.
Fellows remain at their primary academic institution but are assigned to a relevant health- and medicine-related board at the National Academies. The program includes a flexible research grant, mentorship, travel support for NAM activities, and opportunities to contribute to influential policy and research outputs.
