This opportunity funds the Private Enforcement Initiative (PEI) under the Fair Housing Initiatives Program (FHIP) of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The PEI provides grants to eligible private, nonprofit fair housing enforcement organizations to conduct testing, investigations, and enforcement activities addressing violations of the Fair Housing Act, as well as equivalent state or local laws. The program aims to strengthen the national infrastructure for private fair housing enforcement, support complaint intake and investigation, and expand organizational capacity to address both longstanding and emerging forms of housing discrimination.
