Description
The Family Support Award provides supplemental funding to help UCSF researchers sustain their research productivity during periods of significant but temporary family caregiving responsibilities. The award is designed to address gaps in research activity caused by caregiving demands, such as supporting PI salary, research personnel, materials, or obtaining preliminary data. Applicants must demonstrate how caregiving impacts their research capacity and how the funding will help maintain or extend their research program. This mechanism is specifically intended for investigators who are primary caregivers for an ill child, elderly parent, partner, or loved one, and is meant to supplement, not replace, existing research support.
