Description
The Family Support Award at UCSF is designed to assist faculty researchers who are experiencing significant but temporary family caregiving responsibilities that disrupt their research productivity. The award provides supplemental funding to help bridge gaps in research activities, such as supporting PI salary for research or grant writing, obtaining preliminary data, or enhancing research personnel or materials. The funding is intended to maintain or extend research momentum during periods of intense caregiving, supporting either ongoing projects or new research directions that have been affected. Applicants must demonstrate a compelling need directly tied to caregiving demands and show evidence of strong research training and productivity. Funds are meant to supplement, not replace, existing research support.
