Description
The Family Support Award, administered through the UCSF Resource Allocation Program (RAP), is designed to help faculty researchers sustain their research productivity during periods of significant but temporary family caregiving responsibilities. The award provides supplemental funding to address gaps in research progress that may arise when faculty must dedicate considerable time to caring for ill or elderly family members, children, partners, or others. Funding can support preliminary data collection, salary support for research activity, research personnel, or materials, enabling researchers to maintain momentum in their careers despite caregiving demands. Proposals must clearly articulate the impact of caregiving on research capacity and demonstrate a compelling need for additional support directly related to caregiving.
