Description
The Fanconi Cancer Foundation (FCF) offers Research Grant Awards (RGA) to fund innovative, interdisciplinary, and translational research projects aimed at advancing understanding and treatment of Fanconi anemia (FA). The foundation prioritizes projects that address:
- The pathogenesis of cancers associated with FA, including prevention, early detection, treatment, and cure strategies.
- Development of novel gene therapy and gene editing technologies (ex vivo and in vivo) for FA.
- Identification of factors predictive of bone marrow failure, myelodysplastic syndrome, and leukemia in FA patients, and associated treatments.
- Understanding and managing systemic, inflammatory, and aging manifestations of FA, such as Fanconi Anemia Neurological Syndrome (FANS), endocrine, and fertility issues.
- Improving quality of life through practical management strategies for individuals and families affected by FA.
- Use of data analytics to identify biomarkers, risk predictions, and treatment hypotheses.
- Development and sharing of research resources like tissue samples, cell lines, model systems, and data.
Projects may be preclinical or clinical and should be milestone-based, with funding released in installments upon achievement of predefined milestones.
