Summary: Supports cleanup and abatement of illegal solid waste disposal sites on California farm and ranch properties where responsible parties cannot be identified or cannot pay.
The Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant program, administered by CalRecycle, funds the remediation of illegal solid waste disposal sites on farm and ranch lands throughout California. The program targets sites where unauthorized dumping has occurred and the responsible party is unknown, unreachable, or unable to pay for cleanup. Eligible projects must address threats to public health, safety, and the environment and can include both current and previously remediated sites. Funding is intended to support direct cleanup, abatement, and prevention measures, including disposal costs, equipment, site security, and outreach.
