Summary: Supports anthropological research and writing inspired by Black experiences to amplify underrepresented perspectives in the discipline.
This fellowship supports anthropologists whose research draws inspiration from Black studies, critical race studies, diasporic Africana studies, vernacular insights of communities of color, and related fields rooted in global Black experiences. The aim is to expand anthropological conversations and build capacity in the discipline by amplifying perspectives historically underrepresented in anthropology. Fellows join a cohort, participate in workshops and mentoring events, and receive support to increase the impact of their writing projects within and beyond academia. The fellowship is intended for scholars at a critical juncture in their careers, helping them reach new networks and audiences.
