Description
The FIFA World Cup Grant Program (FWCGP) provides significant federal resources to strengthen security and preparedness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches hosted in the United States. Administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through FEMA, the program supports a coordinated, multi-agency approach to protecting players, staff, attendees, venues, and critical infrastructure in 11 U.S. host cities. The grant addresses the unique risks posed by this major international event, which is expected to draw over five million international visitors and generate substantial economic activity. Funding is intended for projects that build and sustain capabilities in planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercises directly related to World Cup security and emergency preparedness.
