--- ## Description The Fiscal Year 2025 Intercity Passenger Rail (IPR) Program is a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) initiative that provides funding to Amtrak to strengthen the security of critical surface transportation infrastructure. This program is part of a suite of DHS transportation security grants focused on preventing and mitigating terrorist attacks and other threats to the nation’s rail systems. Funding supports a range of activities, including planning, equipment acquisition, training, exercises, and operational security initiatives designed to build resilience and protect the traveling public. --- ## Due Dates - Application deadline: **August 15, 2025, 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time** --- ## Funding Amount - **Total funding available:** $9,000,000 - **Expected number of awards:** 1 (Amtrak is the sole eligible applicant) - **Award ceiling:** $9,000,000 - **Award floor:** $0 - **Project period:** Up to 36 months (September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2028) - **No cost sharing or matching required** --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible applicant:** Only the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) is eligible, as specified by law. - **Subawards:** Not permitted.
