Description
This opportunity provides federal cooperative agreement funding to support the ongoing readiness and operational capability of the 28 FEMA-designated Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force Sponsoring Agencies. The funding ensures these task forces can maintain day-to-day administration, program management, training, exercises, procurement of vehicles and equipment, and storage and maintenance, independent of local or state funding sources. When deployed, these task forces provide federal support for mass search and rescue operations in response to natural or man-made disasters, including structural collapses, and assist with stabilization and restoration of community lifelines.
