The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provides federal funding to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist or extremist attacks. The program aims to improve physical security, cybersecurity, and facility hardening for eligible nonprofits, as well as to integrate their preparedness activities with broader state and local efforts. Funding may be used for security enhancements, planning, equipment, training, and exercises to address vulnerabilities identified in site-specific risk assessments.

The program is highly competitive and administered through State Administrative Agencies (SAAs), which are the only entities eligible to submit applications to FEMA on behalf of nonprofit subapplicants. Nonprofits must work with their SAA to apply.
