Description
The Flexible Funding Opportunity from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts offers unrestricted general operating support to nonprofits that align with the foundation’s strategic focus areas. The program is designed to help organizations sustain their day-to-day operations, allowing them to focus on their mission and deepen their community impact. There is a strong emphasis on equity, with particular support for smaller, newer, non-traditional, or fiscally sponsored organizations—especially those who have not previously received significant institutional philanthropy.
Priority is given to organizations whose leadership reflects the populations they serve and are deeply rooted in their communities. Strategic focus areas include racial justice, accessible and affordable post-secondary education and training, early childhood education and care, and a vibrant local arts and creativity ecosystem. Additional targeted funding is available for organizations serving Springfield and Franklin County, with a focus on financial resilience, food and housing security, and basic service needs.
