Description
This opportunity funds synergistic, multidisciplinary research programs focused on rare melanomas (excluding uveal melanoma), with a strong emphasis on translating laboratory discoveries into clinical applications. Projects must address a critical unmet need in rare melanoma research or patient care and be built around a unifying research question, integrating two or three complementary projects that may range from exploratory studies to small-scale clinical trials. A key requirement is the inclusion of at least one rare melanoma survivor or patient advocate on the research team to maximize research impact. Clinical trials are allowed, and the program is designed to encourage collaboration among experienced investigators with a demonstrated track record in managing large, focused research initiatives.
