Summary: Supports collaborative research groups tackling major, well-defined challenges in the mathematical sciences with innovative and potentially interdisciplinary approaches.
This program supports collaborative groups aiming to solve specific, major research challenges in the mathematical sciences through innovative and synergistic efforts. Projects should address outstanding problems of significant importance, with potential for broad impact within mathematics, statistics, and related disciplines. Interdisciplinary and high-risk proposals are encouraged. Each project must be timely, substantial in scope and impact, and limited in duration (up to three years, with possible extension for exceptional progress). The program is not intended for general infrastructure support or primarily training-focused activities.
