This grant supports the creation, presentation, teaching, and documentation of folk and traditional arts in Colorado. It aims to enhance community well-being by fostering belonging, cultural identity, economic vitality, and a sense of place. Funding is available for both creative projects (such as performances, workshops, or exhibitions) and documentary projects (including community archiving, oral histories, photojournalism, or video). The program prioritizes projects led or produced by members of the community whose traditions are being presented or documented, and encourages public accessibility and community involvement. Grantees are also encouraged to contribute documentation to a digital archive in partnership with Colorado State Archives and History Colorado.
