This program funds Community Outreach Projects under the Food Safety Outreach Program (FSOP) to enhance food safety training, education, outreach, and coordination, especially for small and mid-sized producers, processors, and other target audiences. The goal is to improve public health by increasing knowledge and adoption of food safety practices, particularly among entities impacted by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and those lacking access to conventional training resources.
