Description
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) runs this competitive program to connect food assistance efforts with Wisconsin producers and processors. It funds nonprofit food assistance organizations to purchase Wisconsin-sourced food and distribute it at no cost to Wisconsin community members in need, while supporting the growth and operations of in-state food suppliers.
Projects must build partnerships that strengthen Wisconsin’s food security network and reach multiple counties. DATCP prioritizes procurement from Wisconsin producers, processors, and local food distributors; collaboration among suppliers and food access organizations; and expanded access to a variety of Wisconsin foods across the state’s 72 counties.
