The Massachusetts Food Ventures Program (MFVP) provides grant funding to support food ventures that increase access to healthy, affordable food options and improve economic opportunities for low to moderate income communities in Massachusetts. The program is a key initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) and advances the goals of the Massachusetts Local Food Action Plan. Funding supports a variety of projects, including food processing infrastructure, food hubs, greenhouses, farmers' markets, food co-ops, commercial markets, and mobile or innovative markets. Eligible projects must benefit low to moderate income residents and strengthen the local food system, particularly in Gateway Cities and rural areas.
