The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program provides young native Arabic or Hebrew speakers from Israel the opportunity to teach their language at U.S. colleges and universities for one academic year (9 months). In addition to teaching, fellows enroll in academic courses, participate in cultural exchange, and are expected to return home as educators and cultural ambassadors. The program aims to strengthen language instruction in the U.S. and foster mutual understanding between the U.S. and Israel. Participation does not lead to an academic degree.
