Description
This opportunity funds the development and expansion of specialized curricula in forensic ballistics and crime gun intelligence (CGI) at institutions of higher education. The program is designed to strengthen partnerships between colleges/universities and law enforcement, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), to provide students with hands-on training and real-world experience in firearm evidence processing, ballistic analysis using the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), CGI generation, and investigative methodologies. The program aims to build a robust pipeline of trained forensic professionals and expand proven educational frameworks nationally to combat violent gun crime.
