Description
The Formulaic Start-Up Program at the University of Kentucky is designed to support research activities and strategic faculty recruitment by allocating a portion of the university’s Facilities & Administrative (F&A) budget to colleges. Each year, 20% of the estimated F&A budget is reserved and distributed back to colleges based on their historical F&A earnings, with a guaranteed minimum award for each college. Funds can be used for a range of research-related purposes, including faculty research support, graduate student support, equipment, seminars, research travel, and research supplies.
