This unique, commemorative Distinguished Chair award marks the 80th anniversary of the Fulbright Program and is designed to bring an eminent American academic, public intellectual, or senior policy leader to Australia for an extended period of research, teaching, public engagement, and strategic dialogue. The awardee will collaborate with Australian institutions, deliver high-profile lectures, engage in policy roundtables, mentor emerging researchers and students, and contribute thought leadership to reinforce the contemporary relevance of the Australia–United States relationship. The program is open to all disciplines, with emphasis on areas of shared strategic importance such as science and technology, Indo-Pacific affairs, public policy, education, and the arts.
