This grant supports U.S. scholars and professionals to conduct research on evolving Arctic security and geopolitical concerns, spending three months in Iceland and three months in another Nordic country (Denmark, Finland, Norway, or Sweden). The program aims to generate substantive contributions to Arctic security debates, broadly defined, and foster stable, sustainable Arctic regional development. Projects may span governance, political science, international relations, security studies, law, cybersecurity, environmental, food, energy, and water security, science and technology, and related fields. In addition to research, scholars may engage in teaching, mentoring, and development activities. The award is offered in partnership with the National Science Foundation, providing unique opportunities for collaboration and enrichment with Fulbright Commissions and local hosts.
