The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) program enables Finnish lecturers and experts to collaborate with U.S. higher education institutions for one semester or a full academic year. The program's primary aim is to internationalize and enrich the host institution and its community by developing teaching programs, lecturing, and engaging in campus and local activities. Scholars serve as cultural ambassadors, fostering cross-cultural understanding and building institutional linkages. U.S. host institutions may apply for a named Finnish expert or request recruitment of scholars from Finland or specific world regions.
