This grant program funds projects that foster lasting peace by addressing root causes of instability, supporting conflict prevention and mediation, protecting civilians (especially women and children), promoting human rights and democratic principles, eliminating anti-personnel landmines and illegal arms, combating impunity for mass atrocities, and mitigating climate change impacts on vulnerable populations. Projects must align with Belgium’s foreign policy and international priorities, including the EU Global Strategy and UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Peace Building Department manages all aspects of project initiation, proposal, and follow-up, and only invites selected organizations to apply.
