Description
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State invites proposals for the International Sports Programming Initiative (ISPI). This program supports the design and implementation of international sports exchange projects that advance U.S. foreign policy goals, promote cross-cultural understanding, and foster leadership among youth and sports professionals. The ISPI leverages sport as a tool for diplomacy, people-to-people connections, and capacity-building in youth development, coaching, and sports administration.
For FY 2025, the program will support approximately 14 exchanges, involving both inbound and outbound components, with a focus on themes selected by U.S. embassies and consulates. Exchanges will align with major events such as America250, the FIFA World Cup, and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games. The selected recipient will also oversee sub-awards to additional U.S. organizations, expanding the reach and impact of the initiative.
