This program funds national nonprofit organizations to enhance the capacity of rural housing development organizations, Community Development Corporations (CDCs), Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs), rural local governments, and Indian tribes. The goal is to enable these entities to effectively carry out affordable housing and community development activities in rural areas, particularly for low- and moderate-income families and persons. Activities funded may include training, technical assistance, strategic planning, technological improvements, stakeholder engagement, performance evaluation, and financial assistance, with a strong focus on building organizational infrastructure and governance capabilities.
