Description
This opportunity from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) seeks a data collection and analysis agent to conduct the Annual Surveys of Probation and Parole (ASPP) for the years 2026–2030. The ASPP are the only national data collections that describe the size, change, movements, outcomes, and characteristics of community supervision populations (probation and parole) at national, federal, and state levels. The awardee will be responsible for annual data collection, quality improvement, data analysis, and dissemination of findings, as well as developing and maintaining a web-based data collection tool and supporting BJS in stakeholder engagement and methodological enhancements.
The ASPP data are critical for understanding the majority of the U.S. adult correctional population, as more than two-thirds are under community supervision rather than incarcerated. The project also includes responsibilities for improving data quality, producing high-quality data products, and supporting research and outreach related to community corrections.
