    Description

    The Hazardous Materials State Inspection (HMSI) Grant is a federal program administered by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to provide financial assistance to state agencies for the inspection of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) shippers. The goal is to leverage state resources to improve the safety of hazardous materials transport, reduce fatalities and injuries, and increase compliance with relevant regulations. Eligible costs include personnel, travel, equipment, supplies, and training for HAZMAT inspectors.
