    Description

    This program offers competitive grants to support comprehensive or site-specific planning that integrates land use and transportation for new fixed guideway or core capacity improvement transit projects. The aim is to enhance economic development, increase transit ridership, foster multimodal connectivity, improve access for pedestrians and cyclists, identify infrastructure needs, enable mixed-use development, and engage the private sector near transit stations. The program is authorized under Section 20005(b) of MAP-21, as amended, and supports the Federal Transit Administration’s goal of building equitable, accessible, and economically vibrant communities through transit-oriented development (TOD) planning.
